Audi A4 S4

Instrument Cluster Removal Process

Tools needed:

  • Torx #10 Screw Driver
  • Phillips #2"
  • Flat Head Screw Driver

To remove the cluster separate the steering column bezel by removing the two (2) Phillips screws underneath the steering column that holds the top on. Remove the bottom then the top portion of the bezel by pulling up and slide out.

Next remove the accordian cover in front of the cluster by pulling the top forward until the clips release.

Push the plastic accordian down to expose the two torx screws holding the instrument cluster in place. Remove the Torx screws then pull the cluster out by wiggling it back and forth while pulling.

Once out remove the three wiring harnesses from the cluster. On each on the connector push down on the lock and holds the purple lever in place while pulling back on the purple lever. Rotate the purple lever 90 degrees then pull the connector out.

Do this for all three connectors; blue, gray and green. Then slide the cluster out and send it in for repair.
